Heat Pump & Weatherization Assistance Grants

The Community & Economic Development Department is working with Efficiency Maine for the purchase and/or installation cost associated with heat pumps or weatherization in eligible single- family homes located within the City of Bangor. The City will offer grants of up to $2,000 which can be used in conjunction with current rebates available through Efficiency Maine. www.efficiencymaine.com Our goal is for the heat pumps or weatherization be very low or no cost to eligible low-income homeowners in Bangor.
Grants for this program are being made available through the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Eligibility is based on a homeowner’s income relative to how many individuals live at the home. In order to be eligible, the home owner’s gross income must be at or below the level of the corresponding household size.
