Leaf Collection will begin: November 5, 2025.
Loose leaves should be raked to the edge of the road where crews can collect them with large vacuum units. Please exercise caution to ensure that rocks, branches, yard waste, and other debris are not included in the loose-leaf piles, as they may plug the vacuum hose, damage the vacuum unit, or injure Public Works employees.
Please note: Crews will make several passes through the city until all leaves are picked up but inclement weather could prevent crews from collecting all leaves.
There is not a set route through the city so we can't tell residents when we will pick up at their place but, rest assured, we are working as fast as we can to remove your leaves. We will have multiple crews working 10 hours/day, 6 days/week to get everything cleaned up.
Brush, branches, and yard waste as well as leaves may also be brought to the Bangor Public Works Compound at 530 Maine Avenue, Monday through Sunday, 7 am to sunset, 7 days/week. For information on leaf collection, please call 207-992-4500.
In order to access the Bangor Public Works Compound, citizens will need to bring proof of residency (e.g. current tax bill or recent utility bill).
