Downtown Bangor Transportation and Streetscape Improvements
The City of Bangor is conducting a study to identify transportation and streetscape improvements in the downtown area. The study aims to identify strategies to reduce congestion, improve pedestrian and traffic safety, complement long-range land use planning goals, and align with economic goals for the City of Bangor.
The work will be based on anticipated growth trends and development to ensure the City is planning for future conditions. It will consider improvements to roadway safety and mobility, active transportation, and connections to transit. It will also look at aesthetic design features to enhance the urban streetscape including improving the look, feel, and character of historic downtown Bangor.
This project is also supported by the Bangor Area Comprehensive Transportation System (BACTS) , the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) , engineers at Sewall , and landscape architects at Viewshed.
