Dakin Pool to Open for Evening Swim

BANGOR, Maine: The City of Bangor Parks and Recreation Department is now able to open Dakin Pool for evening swim starting July 12th, 2022.

Bangor Parks and Recreation staff, working collaboratively with staff from Brewer Parks and Recreation, have developed a plan that added lifeguards from Brewer to the lifeguard staff at Bangor.  The recent addition of these guards will allow for the opening of Dakin Pool for evening swim Monday through Thursday starting on Tuesday evening, July 12th.  Evening swim is scheduled from 6:00PM-7:30PM.  There is an admission fee of $.50 for youth under 16 years of age and $1.00 for those 17 and older.  This collaboration is a great example of the two cities working together to share resources when needed.

As indicated at the opening of the pool season, Bangor Parks and Recreation want to make sure patrons understand that all swim times at both the Beth Pancoe Aquatic Center as well as the Dakin Pool is contingent on staff availability.
