Broad Street Closure in Downtown Bangor to Begin Tonight, June 12th
BANGOR, MAINE—Beginning Friday, June 12, 2020, the City of Bangor will temporarily close Broad Street in Downtown Bangor to vehicle traffic. The closure on Broad Street will run from Main Street to Bangor Alley, alongside West Market Square, and will remain in effect until the termination of the City’s State of Emergency or September 7, 2020, whichever comes first.
By closing this section of Broad Street, the City of Bangor aims to aid its citizens and businesses by allowing for the safe reopening of businesses as detailed by the State of Maine’s plan. Businesses will be able to utilize the area as a pedestrian mall, as well as for expanded outdoor restaurant service to improve social distancing capabilities.
