3/20/2020 - Bangor City Council Announces 3/23/20 Meeting with Details for Public Access

The Bangor City Council will meet on Monday, March 23, 2020 at 7:30 pm.  While City Hall is closed to the public, we are working to make meetings as accessible as possible.

The City continues to post meeting agendas to the City’s online meeting calendar (https://bangormaine.gov/content/1538/1751/1765/default.aspx).

The City will continue to broadcast public meetings that take place in Council Chambers as follows:

Watch meetings live, online, via the link here, https://townhallstreams.com/towns/bangor_me at Town Hall Streams. This service is mobile compatible.

Watch meetings live via the City of Bangor's Facebook page here, https://www.facebook.com/BangorCityHall/.

Meetings are broadcast live and re-broadcast to the Government Channel, local channel 1303.

In order to remain in compliance with the current state of emergency, alternate methods are being established for the City Council to receive public comment during Monday’s meeting.

Written public comments can be emailed to publiccomment.March23@bangormaine.gov, or mail to Public Comment 73 Harlow Street Bangor, ME 04401, or dropped off in the lobby of City Hall.  Comment received by 4:00 pm on Monday, March 23rd will be provided to the City Council in advance of the meeting and will be become part of the permanent record of the meetings.

In addition, the City will be utilizing Zoom.  This platform will allow for residents to view the meeting online and submit public comment.  The link for the Zoom meeting will be available Monday morning on the City’s website at www.bangormaine.gov.  In the meantime, you can download the free Zoom app on any mobile or desktop device.

The March 23rd City Council meeting represents our first effort to accept public comment via Zoom.  Please understand we may encounter technical difficulties or other issues with Zoom which may limit our ability to utilize this platform as we hope.  If individuals want to ensure their comments reach the City Council, please consider submitting written comments in one of the manners indicated above.

Thank you for your patience as we figure out this new method of meeting in the interest of public health. Please go to the City’s website, https://www.bangormaine.gov/ to access the City of Bangor’s Public Health and COVID-19 updates.
