The City Manager of the City of Bangor, in consultation with the City Council Chair, has declared a civil state of emergency and directed that effective March 17, 2020, bars, restaurants, and gathering places are required to close between the hours of 8:00 pm and 2:00 am, effective for five days.
All gatherings are recommended to be limited to 10 people, in accordance with Center for Disease Control guidelines and the recommendation of the President of the United States.
“We are really proud of our business community and the fact that many have already made the very difficult decision to close,” said City Manager Catherine Conlow. “This decision is made in the interest of public health.”
This does not affect essential services like gas stations, grocery stores, and pharmacies.
