City of Bangor Winter Parking Regulations are in effect, continuing through March 31, 2018

Bangor, Maine: The City of Bangor winter parking regulations went into effect on Saturday, December 9 when the City declared the first parking ban of the winter season, and will continue through March 31, 2018.  Vehicles that violate winter parking regulations may be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.  In the City of Bangor, winter parking regulations differ slightly by location.

Winter parking regulations for streets outside the Downtown Parking Management District

Until March 31, 2018, parking is prohibited in city parking lots and on all city streets outside the Downtown Parking Management District from 12 midnight through 6 AM.  In addition, daytime alternate side on-street parking is in effect through March 31, 2018.  From 6 AM to 12 midnight, parking is permitted on the odd-numbered side of each street outside the Downtown Parking Management District on odd-numbered days, even-numbered side of each street on even-numbered days, unless otherwise regulated by City signage.

Winter parking regulations for streets within the Downtown Parking Management District

Until March 31, 2018, parking is prohibited in city parking lots and on city streets in the Downtown Parking Management District when the City declares a parking ban.  Parking bans can be declared prior to and following a snow event, therefore, the City encourages the public to subscribe to receive parking ban notifications via email: http://www.bangormaine.gov/subscribe and not rely on the weather to assume whether a parking ban is in effect.  In addition, parking ban notifications are published on the City’s website at http://www.bangormaine.gov and forwarded to local news outlets.
