11/2/2017 - City of Bangor Storm Response Update for Thursday, November 2
The American Red Cross shelter at the Brewer Auditorium closed today, though the facility remains open until 6:00 PM this evening as a warming center. The Bangor Parks and Recreation center located at 647 Main Street is open until 8:00 PM this evening and those without power are welcome to use the facility to charge devices and stay warm. Those unable to get to Bangor Parks and Recreation are encouraged to call the Bangor Police Department at (207) 947-7384 to arrange transportation.

Hot Showers – bring own supplies (towels, soap, etc)
The Cross Insurance Center, located at 515 Main Street, will continue to provide hot showers tonight until 6:00 PM and tomorrow morning from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM. The public can access the facility via the Southwest entrance (accessible via the upper parking lot). 

Power Outage Update 
Emera made significant progress restoring power to thousands of Bangor homes today, including homes on the west side near Fairmount Park. However, there are still nearly 3,000 Bangor homes without power. The public can track Emera’s progress online via: http://apps.emeramaine.com/about/outages/Outage_Map.cfm

Area Hotel Availability
The Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau is maintaining a listing of hotel availability in the Greater Bangor area on their website, https://www.visitbangormaine.com/power-check-deals/. Some hotels are offering special promotions for customers without power.
