10/31/2017 - City officials discourage trick or treating tonight due to safety concerns
Bangor, Maine: Due to safety concerns resulting from Monday’s severe storm, city officials are discouraging trick or treating tonight, Tuesday, October 31. A number of Bangor neighborhoods remain without power and restoration times continue to remain unclear. “The lack of street lighting and house lighting combined with low hanging power lines and storm debris contribute to unsafe trick or treating conditions in Bangor this evening,” says Mark Hathaway, Bangor Police Chief. Parents are encouraged to consider postponing trick or treating activities until Friday, November 3, when power is presumed to be restored.
