10/31/2017 - City of Bangor Storm Response Update
Overnight, utility crews were able to make progress with restoring power to some Bangor residents, though many remain without power this morning. The City is continuing to monitor the power outages with state and local agencies, though no definitive restoration times are available at this time. In response, the City is coordinating its resources to provide relief for those that are without power.

Charging Stations / Early Voting
The Cross Insurance Center, located at 515 Main Street, has power and is open until 6 PM this evening for early voting. In addition to voting, the public is welcome to use the facility to charge electronic devices. The Bangor Public Library opens at 10 AM, closes at 8 PM this evening, and provides a warm shelter to charge electronics. There are limited charging stations available at public buildings today, including Bangor Parks and Recreation, the domestic terminal at Bangor International Airport and Bangor City Hall.

Public Safety / Welfare Checks
Bangor residents are encouraged to call Police or Fire to report concerns and to perform welfare checks. The phone number for the Bangor Police Department is (207) 947-7384; the phone number for the Bangor Fire Department is (207) 992-4700. Call 911 to report all emergencies.

Bangor residents are encouraged to check on elderly neighbors to make sure they have what they need to stay safe and warm. City staff remind the public to use caution when using candles and to run generators outside.
