9/26/2014 - Color Run Event in Bangor this Sunday
Another busy event weekend will be happening on the Bangor Waterfront highlighted by The Color Run on Sunday morning. This is the second event of this type hosted on the Waterfront. The American Folk Festival held a similar event in April.

“It’s great that we continue to attract these unique events to Bangor” said Tracy Willette, Director of Parks and Recreation. “The Waterfront is a unique amenity and venue that continues to be a popular destination for event sponsors and organizers” continued Willette.

Pre-race registrations indicate that Sunday’s event will have a large turnout. The race will start and finish on the Waterfront with sections of Front and Railroad streets closed for the event. The race course will focus on streets in the Cedar, Third and Buck Street areas. In addition, Bangor Police Department will have officers at various locations along Main Street. Although Main Street will not be closed during the event, motorists should anticipate delays as officers stop traffic to allow participants to cross Main Street at Cedar Street as well as Bass Park Boulevard and Dutton Street. The Color Run is scheduled to start at 8:00AM and the race portion should be finished by 10:00AM.

Parking for both participants and spectators is available throughout the Downtown area including the Pickering Square Parking Garage which will open at 6:00AM on Sunday morning. Spectators are encouraged to view events along the Waterfront, or in Bass Park.
