3/29/2017 - Bangor and Brewer welcome the Lombardi Trophy to the Cross Insurance Center this Saturday, April 1
The mayors of Bangor and Brewer along with their councils are proud to announce that the Lombardi Trophy will be making an appearance at the Cross Insurance Center this Saturday, April 1, from 1 PM to 5 PM in the Grand Ballroom. The mayors of Portland, Bangor and Brewer sent a letter to the New England Patriots in February asking the Super Bowl Champions to bring the Lombardi Trophy to the state. "We are very excited and proud to welcome the Super Bowl's Lombardi Trophy to Bangor, Maine," said Bangor Mayor Joe Baldacci. "Bangor loves the Patriots and the Patriots love Bangor. We are the first community after the team's visits to Boston and Providence that can view this historic trophy." Brewer Mayor Kevin O'Connell added, "Roger that - and to the Patriots, thank you for doing a great job!"
In addition to viewing the trophy, fans will be able to meet Pat Patriot, the mascot of the New England Patriots and a Patriots cheerleader from 1 PM to 3 PM. The event is free to the public but a ticket is required. Tickets will be available on a first come, first serve basis at the Grand Ballroom entrance. Visitors must bring their own cameras.
Fans should note that The Bangor Home Show is taking place at the Cross Insurance Center at the same time as the trophy viewing, from 10 AM - 8 PM. To ease congestion, fans should use either of the Main St entrances to access the Cross Insurance Center and park in the Hollywood Casino parking garage or in the lot at the Cross Insurance Center.
