Bangor Police Department National Night Out 2016
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT – Bangor’s Night Out Against Crime
The Bangor Police Department and Bangor’s Neighborhood Watch Groups will be hosting Bangor’s fourth NATIONAL NIGHT OUT against crime. This year’s event will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 2, 2016 in Stillwater Park, Howard Street, Bangor.
NNO is America's annual Night Out Against Crime. It is a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. While Bangor residents spend Tuesday evening in Stillwater Park, people in communities across America will be doing the exact same thing. More than 15,000 communities from all 50 states, and from Canadian cities and military bases worldwide – more than 37 million people in all -- participate each year.
This is an anti-crime, completely free public safety event, designed to serve the children and families of Bangor.
There will be an inflatable obstacle course provided by Taylor Rental, a Bangor Police K9 demonstration, a robot demonstration by the Bangor Bomb Squad, snow cones from Target, W.A Bean hot dogs from O’Donnell’s Deli, iris scans by the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department, trucks and firefighters from the Bangor Fire Department, and more. Plus, we will be giving away prizes!
As always, this year’s NNO will serve to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for (and participation in) local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know that Bangor neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
