1/11/2016 - POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER: Self-Employment Taxes and Tax Issues Workshop for Artists

 IMPORTANT: 

The City of Bangor's Commission on Cultural Development is postponing this workshop due the expectation of inclement weather. A new date will be announced.

The City of Bangor’s Commission on Cultural Development invites you to attend a workshop on Self-Employment Taxes and Tax Issues. This free workshop will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Story Room of the Bangor Public LibraryThe Story Room is located on the third level level off the Children’s Room.

 

Tax accountants from Faust, & Smith Certified Public Accountants will facilitate this education workshop. Hilary and Lily have significant experience serving the greater Bangor region; three accountants will address tax guidelines and issues artists may face, which will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

 

The Commission on Cultural Development enriches and advances Bangor as a vibrant city of arts and culture. Its mission is to support art and culture through funding, marketing, advocacy, and education to benefit citizens, visitors, and the economic and cultural vitality of the city. You and your work are important parts of Bangor’s artistic and cultural community, so we hope you can attend and share your experiences.

 

This workshop is first in a series that will address the professional development needs of artists in our community. Other workshops will include:

·         Businesses Partnering with the Arts Community

·         Marketing, Representation, and Networking
