Bangor to roll out new municipal website

BANGOR, Maine – The City is in the process of designing a new, more attractive and user-friendly website and the implementation process begins this week with the introduction of ClickFix Bangor, which will be the platform by which residents can file a request for service.

Residents can continue to go to bangormaine.gov and click on the quick link titled “File a Service Request.” They will then be directed to the ClickFix platform where they can quickly report a concern, such as a pothole that needs patching, a downed tree, a street light that’s out or trash that needs to be collected.

Following this change, a mass notification system will be introduced and full implementation of the new website is expected to be completed by October.

Bangor’s current website is more than 10 years old and while it offers a broad amount of information, the site is outdated and difficult to update.

The City has contracted with CivicPlus to develop the website and the company has extensive experience working with municipalities in Maine and elsewhere. It offers support and services useful for staff while ensuring an updated look and user-friendly experience for residents.

A primary intention of adopting a new website is to offer a better online experience for users seeking information or assistance from the City, and the transition to CivicPlus will provide that.
