BANGOR, Maine -- Bangor Police arrested Hunter Targon, 20, of Bangor after officers responded to a call from a resident that someone was trying to kick their door in.
On Thursday, March 5, at approximately 03:15 a.m., Bangor Police responded to a residence on Center Street for the report of someone trying to break into the apartment. Officers found the described male and later identified him as Targon. The caller said they just wanted Targon to leave and not return. Officers gave Targon a warning not to return and he was sent on his way. Officers remained on scene for a few minutes after Targon walked off, and noticed that he was returning to the property and used a separate door to gain entry. Officers then observed Targon attempting to get into the same residence and threatening the original caller.
Targon physically resisted when officers attempted to take him into custody. Targon was on bail conditions stemming from an arrest by Bangor PD on March 1, 2026 for Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention, Class D. He was eventually arrested and transported to Penobscot County Jail, charged with the following:

- Burglary, Class C
- Criminal Trespass, Class E
- Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention, Class D
- Violation of Condition of Release, Class E
