In 2015, the City of Bangor designated the month of October as the "Month of the Arts," officially celebrating the diverse and exciting creative culture in the Queen City. The month of October is dedicated to showcasing our rich and various local artists and art organizations.
Nominations for 2025 Bangor Arts Award
The City of Bangor’s Commission on Cultural Development is now accepting nominations for the 2025 Bangor Arts Award. This annual award recognizes an individual or organization that embodies or supports the vitality and creativity of Bangor’s arts community. Nominees may work in, or in support of, any artistic medium, including visual arts, music, performing arts, or written art.
The winner will receive a $1,000 cash award and be recognized at Bangor City Hall during the ARTober opening event in early October 2025. Nominations may be submitted for a friend, colleague, organization, or for yourself.
To be eligible, individual nominees must live or work in Bangor, and nominated organizations must be based in Bangor. Nominations are due by Sunday, September 7, 2025.
