BANGOR, Maine – Members of Bangor Fire Department’s “B” Shift, led by Assistant Chief Chandler Corriveau, have been awarded a Unit Citation for Meritorious Conduct by the Penobscot County Fire Chief's Association.
The citation recognizes the crew’s actions during a March 14, 2024 mobile home fire, in which an occupant was reportedly trapped inside the structure. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed the individual was still inside. Despite facing heavy fire conditions, the crew entered the building at great personal risk and successfully rescued the occupant.
The patient was then transferred to Bangor Fire Paramedics and EMTs who provided advanced life support and transported the individual to the hospital. The entire operation—from the fire truck’s arrival on scene to the patient’s arrival at the emergency room—was completed in just twelve minutes and forty seconds, a testament to the crew’s skill and dedication.
