BANGOR, Maine -- Bangor Police arrested Axel-Rodney Brooks, 38, of Bangor after a call for a fight at a residence.
On Sunday, February 8, at approximately 10:34 a.m., Bangor Police responded to a residence for the report of a couple fighting. Officers arrived and made contact with a female who was eventually transported to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries. The female said she was threatened and assaulted by Brooks over the course of the weekend, including being knocked unconscious and choked. A friend of the victim came to visit and was asked to call the police. The friend alleged that Brooks threatened to assault her as well if she called police, before he left in a vehicle. Brooks was located and taken into custody away from the scene.

Brooks was arrested and transported to Penobscot County Jail, charged with the following:
- Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault, Class B
- Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening, Class D
- Criminal Threatening, Class D
