BANGOR, Maine -- A Bangor man is facing charges for burglary after he was arrested when police responded to an alarm at a local business.
On Sunday, December 28, at approximately 09:53 p.m., Bangor Police responded to a business on Park Street after an alarm was activated. While checking the business, Officer Willette could hear glass breaking and then saw a person run through the building. The individual, later identified as Pickard, ran out of the building and away from Officer Willette. After a brief foot chase, Officer Willette was able to take Pickard into custody. Evidence Technician’s found a bag of belongings near the broken window of the business containing items taken from inside of the building.
Pickard was arrested and transported to Penobscot County Jail, charged with the following:

- Burglary, Class C
- Theft by Unauthorized Taking, Class E
- Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention, Class D
- Criminal Mischief, Class D
