BANGOR, Maine -- A Bangor man led police of a brief chase before being arrested. He faces various charges.
On Dec. 17, at approximately 12:28 p.m., Bangor Police Officer Brian Cronk attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of Griffin Road and Broadway. The vehicle refused to stop and drove outbound on Broadway at a high rate of speed. The vehicle eventually stopped on outer Broadway and the driver of the vehicle began to run away on foot. Officer Cronk continued to chase the driver through the woods for about a mile before he was apprehended on Pushaw Road with the assistance of other responding officers.
Corey Paradise, 52, of Bangor was arrested for an outstanding warrant and transported to Penobscot County Jail. Paradise was additionally charged with the following:
- Refusing to stop for a law enforcement officer, Class E
- Driving to endanger, Class E
- Operating while license suspended or revoked, Class E
