BANGOR, Maine – The Bangor Police Department will again offer the Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) class, a nationally recognized program designed to teach basic self-defense skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Women ages 13 (with a parent) and older are encouraged to apply. Classes will be held on the following dates:
October 16, 24, and 30, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
November 17 and 21, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and November 23, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Participants must attend all three dates in a session.
The cost is $25. Once completed, participants may return for practice at no cost for life. Scholarships are available for those who cannot afford the fee.
