FOAA Requests
The City of Bangor believes the public has the right to know of the activities of the City. In this spirit, many public documents can be found on Laserfiche.
If you would like to submit a public records request under Maine’s Freedom of Access Act (FOAA), you may reach out to either the City department containing the records or email the City’s Public Access Officer, Grace Innis.
Should you make a request and direct it to the incorrect department, that department will direct it to the correct department.
Public Records by Department:
If you are looking for public records that are within the City Clerk’s control, such as vital records (birth, death, marriage certificates) and records related to City Council proceedings, you may email the City Clerk’s Office. City Council meeting agendas, packets, and minutes can be found on Laserfiche.
If you are looking for public records that are within the Code Enforcement Office’s control, such as permits, you may email the Code Enforcement Office. Many permits can be found on Laserfiche.
If you are looking for public records that are within the Police Department’s control, you may email the Police Department.
