Housing Work Group Continues Public Meetings

November 7 to Develop Recommendations

BANGOR, MAINE -- The City of Bangor has convened a work group to focus on the issue of quality, affordable housing in the City and the region. The work group includes representatives from the public and private sector, including individuals, landlords, renters, housing developers, and nonprofit agencies.  The public is invited and encouraged to attend all sessions. A series of workshops are planned through September and October to hear panel presentations on housing topics, culminating with recommendations for local programs or policy that can address the shortage of quality, affordable housing in the region.

The sixth public session is November 7, 2018 from 5:00 to 6:45 pm in Council Chambers at Bangor City Hall, 73 Harlow Street. The goal of this session is to discuss and prepare recommendations for solutions. Those solutions will presented to the Bangor City Council and other stakeholders on December 5 (also 5:00 to 7:00 pm). All meetings will be televised on Bangor’s government access channel and live streamed through the City’s Facebook page, and video will be available after the fact at: https://bangormaine.viebit.com/

Members of the community who cannot attend the sessions are encouraged to send comments, suggestions, or questions to housing@bangormaine.gov or via mail to the Community and Economic Development Office, Bangor City Hall, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor, ME 04401.
