City of Bangor Revamps COVID-19 Business Listings in Ongoing Effort to Support Local Businesses During Stay-at-Home Order
BANGOR, ME--A new interactive map with expanded listings of businesses that are providing service to customers is available on the City of Bangor’s website.
Within the first week of social distancing measures being put into place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Bangor created a webpage with a GIS map that detailed essential food service and curbside pickup/drop off parking spots. On Monday, April 14, 2020, the City upgraded the map and listings to include nonfood related businesses. Businesses are also now allowed to edit their own listings, which will help as businesses are constantly evolving in response to changing recommendations and regulations.
Downtown Coordinator Betsy Lundy says, “This new map will provide a much needed link between consumers who seek to shop local and businesses who are continuing to provide service to customers in new and innovative ways.”
The interactive map is available at www.bangormaine.gov/localbusiness.
