Paul Nicklas Named New City Solicitor for City of Bangor
BANGOR, MAINE – Bangor City Council approved the appointment of Paul Nicklas to City Solicitor at a special meeting last week. Nicklas has worked for the City of Bangor as Assistant City Solicitor since 2007. Prior to his role as Assistant City Solicitor, Nicklas worked for a federal judge in Laredo, Texas. A Maine native, he attended Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia Law School, where he received his Juris Doctorate.
“Paul’s familiarity with Bangor and his experience in the Legal department here at City Hall for over a decade will serve him well as he transitions into this new role,” said Bangor City Council Chair Clare Davitt. “Paul is thoughtful and meticulous, and cares deeply for the community. He is a valuable member of the hard-working staff at City Hall, and both I and my fellow councilors look forward to working with him.”
Nicklas will replace Norm Heitmann in December of this year. Heitmann is retiring after serving as City Solicitor for 20 years.
