11/9/2017 - The City will stop accepting applications for food replacement assistance on Monday, November 13
Bangor residents that need City assistance to help replenish food lost due to last week's power outage must apply before 4:30 PM on Monday, November 13. The City will not accept applications for food replacement after Monday, November 13.
Health and Community Services staff are accepting walk-ins that need assistance during normal business hours, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The Health and Community Services office is closed on Friday, November 10 in observance of Veterans Day.
In order to qualify for City assistance, proof of Bangor residency (driver's license, mail, pay stub, etc) is required. Those that currently receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) / food stamp benefits are not eligible for City assistance but can contact the Department of Health and Community Services at (207) 561-4100 to learn more about the options available to them.
