There are multiple events this coming week in Bangor that City officials wanted to make residents and visitors aware of. All of these events are happening in the Main Street, Waterfront, and Downtown areas.
The Maine State Harley Owners Group will be holding their state rally in Bangor starting on Wednesday morning. A majority of their activity will be happening at the Cross Insurance Center with guided rides leaving from various points each day. The rides will be throughout the region. The group also intends on having some static displays on the Waterfront during the afternoon and evening on Friday. The rally ends on Saturday night.
The Bangor Police Department is fully aware that the increase in motorcycle traffic could bring an increase in noise. Rally organizers have been working with our staff to minimize these issues and are working diligently to make this event successful and will be making sure that the attendees do their best to be great visitors.
There will be concerts on Thursday, Friday and Sunday night in Darling's Waterfront Pavilion. On Thursday night, Hall and Oates will be performing with a scheduled start of 7:00PM. Gates will open at 5:00PM. Tedeschi Trucks and Los Lobos will be performing on Friday night with a scheduled start of 7:30PM and gates opening at 5:30PM. Parking for the Darling's Waterfront Pavilion is available at the Pickering Square Parking garage, along the Bangor Waterfront as well as throughout downtown Bangor. Parking is also available in several private lots along Main Street. The Darling's Waterfront Pavilion can be accessed from the east via route 1A through Brewer and across the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge or via I-395 West and e xiting onto Main Street. Visitors traveling from I-95 North or South can get to the Waterfront via I-395 East. Patrons to either event are encouraged to arrive early and allow additional time to get to either venue. Motorists should anticipate slight delays on Main Street in the area of the Cross Insurance Center and Hollywood Casino.
On Thursday evening, the weekly Cool Sounds concert series happens downtown in West Market Square. On Friday night, the weekly outdoor movie series is happening in Pickering Square.
