The Bangor Police Department will be holding its first Regional Business Academy, beginning Thursday, September 11th, 2014. This 8 week program will consist of a session each Thursday from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Richard E. Dyke Center for Family Business, Husson University, 1 College Circle, Bangor
The targeted audience for the Business Police Academy is the business community including business owners, managers and employees. Participants must be at least 21 years old and will be subject to a background check.
The sessions will include education on:
SHOPLIFTING PREVENTION
EMPLOYEE HIRING
FIRE PREVENTION & SAFETY
COUNTERFEITING AND FRAUD
CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS
COURTROOM PROCEDURE
This Academy focuses on providing information that both employees and owners can use daily to protect businesses from being a victim of crime. The goal is to create a collaborative engagement with the business community and make our community a safer place to live, work and shop.
Class size is limited and will be filled on a first-come basis. All applicants are subject to a background check. Applicants with felony convictions or a significant criminal history will not be accepted.
