If it is a new registration you will need:

The Window Sticker, if the vehicle has never been titled The old title, if the vehicle is a 1986 or newer

A bill of sale, if a private sale

The sales tax form and title application, if from a dealership Current mileage

Proof of insurance

If you are transferring or using plates from another vehicle, you will need the

old registration from that vehicle. You will be required to fill out a form before

we can process your registration. To save you time in the Treasury Office you may download that form here and have it filled out before you arrive. If it is a renewal you will need:

Your old registration

Current mileage

Proof of insurance

Please be aware that the City of Bangor is limited to the

type of new registrations

we can process, so we may not be able to complete your registration here and you

may have to go to the State Motor Vehicle Branch Office to finish it.
