
Police Athletic League (P.A.L.)
The Bangor Police Athletic League (PAL) has been in existence for 18 years. It is our mission to bring area youth and police officers together through a variety of sports and activities. In doing so, we hope to provide positive alternatives to inappropriate behavior while developing mutual respect and friendships. The results of this program benefit the entire community.
In 1987, Bangor PAL began by reintroducing youth football. Since then, we have grown dramatically and now offer the following programs:

· Football
· Mountain Biking
· Kayaking
· Hiking
· Golf
· Cheerleading
· Cross Country Skiing
· Sledding
· Supervised After School Program

Our P.A.L. program is based in
a building at
lodge has been refurbished and offers a snack
bar, billiards, video games, large screen TV, and computer work stations, all
in an atmosphere of pine walls covered in a variety of sports memorabilia. The
facility has been named The Essex Street PAL Center.
Bangor PAL is working hard to
help lead our youth in a positive direction by providing role models who teach
the qualities of self respect, honesty, discipline, motivation, humility, and
control. These are essential elements in all champions, both on the athletic
field and in life. Bangor P.A.L. has
recently partnered with the Bangor Noontime Kiwanis’s in an effort to continue
our quality programs with strong community involvement. We strive to keep
The Bangor P.A.L is a not for profit organization with full 501 ( c ) 3 status.
The Bangor PAL is open summers, Mon-Fri 11 a.m.-4 p.m. After school fall and winter hours are Mon-Fri 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
