To Register your Boat

Please note that the City of Bangor registers Boats, ATVs, and Snowmobiles for City of Bangor residents only or for out of State owners whose boat will be docked in Bangor.

If it is a new registration you will need:

· A bill of sale or sales tax form from a dealership

· The boat length

· The horsepower

· The year

· The serial number

· The make of the boat

· The boat type (open, sail, cabin, ect.)

· Fuel type (gas, diesel, other)

· Hull type (wood, fiberglass, ect.)

· What it will be used for (pleasure, commercial fishing, rental, ect.)

· What type of water will it be used in (fresh, salt, or
both)

· What type of propulsion does it have (inboard, outboard, both)

You will also need to fill out a form before we can process the registration. To shorten your time in the Treasury Department you can download this form here and have it already filled out when you arrive.

If it is a renewal you will need: Your old registration.

Please be aware that all boat registrations expire on December 31st of each year.

To Register your Snowmobile
