Code Enforcement facilitates compliance with the various applicable health and safety codes and ordinances of the City through a proactive program of code assistance. Services, public education, and enforcement are provided in a fair and timely manner and designed to protect the public and enhance the community’s quality of life.

CODES ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF BANGOR

To facilitate the Division's Mission, the City of Bangor has adopted, by ordinance, the following nationally recognized codes:

2003 International Property Maintenance Code

Maine State Plumbing Code/2000 Uniform Plumbing Code (Internal Plumbing)

As part of our Community's effort to make our city a desirable plea to live and work, the City of Bangor has adopted a PROPERTY MAINTENANCE ORDINANCE.  Click Here for an overview of the property Maintenance code.  Violations should be reported to the Code office and the City will work with the properety owner to correct violations in a timely manner.
