Office of the City Clerk
The Office of the City Clerk is the official Record Keeper of the City of Bangor. We issue, record, maintain, and ensure the safekeeping and preservation of City Council Actions, Minutes of City Council meetings, Vital Records (Birth, Death & Marriage), Marriage Licenses, Hospital Liens, Business Registrations (Sole proprietorship and Partnership), Business Licenses, Contracts, and other official city documents.
This office is also responsible for licensing dogs, enforcing animal control ordinances, issuing Hunting and Fishing licenses, administering elections, registering voters, preparing and distributing City Council Agendas, managing Subordinate Committee memberships and applications, and providing Notary Public and Dedimus Justice services.
Mission Statement
The mission of the City Clerk's office is to accurately maintain all city records including vital records, council records, and licenses, to conduct elections and voter registration processes with professionalism in accordance with Maine Law, to provide for the safety of the general public through animal control regulations and licensing, and to provide information to both City officials and the general public in a friendly and confidential manner.
