Bangor Police also invest in their officers with 78 hours of high quality annual training, to include multiple firearms trainings as well as active threat training throughout the year.

The City of Bangor offers the MPERS retirement system for Police Officers.  Officers are eligible to retire at 50% pay of their top highest three years.  Overtime opportunities will allow for significantly increased earning potential. There is no age limit to withdraw and for every year you remain vested after 25, you add 2%.  Applicants can also choose an ICMA 401(A) retirement plan as well.
